A love of embroidery and needle crafts was inspired from an early age by my mother and grandmother. They handed down skills that have been a constant source of pleasure. After studying Environmental Science, my first career was as a Geography teacher. However, it was only after moving to the Welsh Marches that I was able to pursue my passion in needle crafts and textiles.
I find inspiration in a variety of influences, but am constantly drawn to nature. It is a fascination in the minute details found in plant, insect and birdlife that provides the inspiration for my work. I hope to capture the detail, colour and form of nature by using a variety of needlework techniques such as machine embroidery and stump work.
